Now I've put a couple tanks of fuel through my truck, i've averaged 23,26, and 24.5 mpg on each tank, filling them up after 300 miles on each. Mostly city driving, been running it pretty hard. My pump is turned up, but do those numbers sound low..? I figured I would be closer to 30. I'm not suprised by it though, I have been running it pretty much to the floor.. Egt's hit about 1360 but usually dont get above 1250. Has anyone else played around with injectibles to improve mileage/ slight performance gain? Such as Propane, Nat Gas, Water/Meth? Alot of guys with IDI 6.9/7.3's have had good success with a propane injection system.

My 1983 B2200 gets about 40MPG. I was taught to drive them hard to keep the injectors clean.

Running the tires soft? I have 35 psi all around.
My long bed 1982 with A/C off gets 35 mpg country driving but note that the clocks are all off by 10 percent. So closer to the EPA rated 30 real miles per.

By the way, my B2200 has a five speed.

Well we figured out the reason why the mileage was low.. Leaking fuel line going up to the filter.. Engines out right now, hit a nice chuck hole and broke my turbo drain, should have the engine back in and running this weekend hopefully, seeing as school has started back up, I only have weekends to work on it. I just rewelded a new turbo drain in it tonight, smaller pipe, closer to the block so it wont hit the cross member. I'll get another Mpg's calculation next week most likely. Tires are aired up in the front to 40psi and the rear at 48, I sometimes have a 1,200lbs mower in the bed.. Had them at 25 psi when the mower was on it once... Scariest drive of my life..
