After tearing into this, it's just worn in/out and through. Has some broken parts and starting with another pump is probably the way to go.
Anyone know where I can find a used (but good) pump or at least a parts pump?

I have one but it's probably as cooked as your's; 330K miles on it. Motor ate an intake valve head. Also I stripped the threads off the main shaft trying to get the gear off...

I'm a guest now because the board kicked me off automatically when I said I was 3 years old. It didn't even warn me. I just wanted to say that I saw one on e-bay that sold for around $300. I believe it said it was NOS. Any idea what a brand new one would cost and are they still available?

Dave, mine only has a little over 200K on it, but the shaft is too worn to seal with new orings and is egg-shaped and so is the housing. Also, the cold start cam has a leg broken off it so it won't engage the throttle plate to increase the idle. I'm thinking the other shaft (cold start) is worn too as it leaks like a sieve.
As far as a brand new one, no joy finding it at suppliers and in all honesty, this truck ain't worth the cost.

The top cover on the junker I have will seal with the right O-Ring. and the lever on the side of the cold start is rusty but useable. I put Briggs and Stratton (yea the one lunger company) Graphite and Moly Grease on the shaft and ring when I reassemble the pump. This stops the ring and shaft from wear. That little slop in the shaft won't make a rats azz bit of difference as long as the o-ring fits tight.
I have never seen a cold start shaft leak. What you are probably seeing is fuel running down the side and dripping off the cold start shaft from the throttle shaft. The throttle get a million times the wear as the throttle and the o-ring wears out first.
My old pump is out and I have pictures. Send me your e-mail address if your interested. I also have pics of the complete Perkins 200 series from the owners manual.
