Anyone done anything more than increasing the full fuel and governor?
Also, this IP ('83 2.2) leaks from the trhottle shaft and the cold-start shaft in the side, will need to remove to re-seal I'm afraid, any source for rebuilt pumps out there?
Seems to be a no-mans land kind of engine.

I'm in a wheel chair and my wife and I changed 2 of the o-ring with the pumps still on the engines. You will need to make a few tools (Cut off a metric hex wrench to put in a 1/4 drive socket) and buy another nut to lock against the main fuel calibration lock nut so you can back the whole screw/nuts out with out changing the length. You need to take the calibration screw all the way out or you won't get the top cover back on the pump. (Big nasty spring pushing on governor). O-ring/pump is the same as a Bosche VE Pump and can be got at a good diesel injector /pump service shop for about $1.50. Bring top to shop. You will need to take off the air filter, intake manifold, fuel filter and lines to get at all the screws on the top of the pump. I have pictures of the parts if you need madfax@ttlc.net put "mazda help" in title. Dave: PS: (don't mess with the cal screw) It will run away or hunt for idle speed. I Been there.........

Hey Dave, thanks! I did get to the top of the pump and installed a gasket under the thttl plate that slowed the leak to a leak instead of a faucet before I left for Colorado.
As far as the O-ring, since I work on inline pumps and Mercedes diesels for Colorado Biodiesel, I have a large assortment of Viton O-rings that I'm sure I can find a match. Also, am thinking I'll machine the housing out to accept a sintered bushing (there's a lot of radial play in the shaft) and maybe a regular lip-seal.
I also have all the metric hex wrench sockets, so that should be cake, it looks like they're all easy to get to (once the mount plate for the P/S pump is removed.)
For the full-fuel screw, too late on that one, I adjusted that before I drove the car from Calif to Colorado. Identical to VW adjustments, very little does a lot.
Thanks again for the info, I'll LYK my progress on it.
