The Dave that started this board put an external oil filter on his fire wall that he got at some tractor sales. Type in "soot my foot" search (Google.com) for some super big rig filters kits. Only place to get the large stock spin on ones now is through Mazda. (too pricey for me) Ford put the Perkins 4.154 engine oil pan and oil pump / filter set on there Ranger (no bypass filter). Our engine has an RX7 oil cooler on it, not that it makes it go any faster, but does keep the oil cool and that's cool. community.webshots.com/user/dieseldavo

the ranger engine does have a bypass filter located below the alternator. mine's been removed for a franz filter. the metal seals for the lines are not available, i found that disk brake line seals will work. i have two factory bypass filter housings if someone wants them. also if you want to run a larger filter and have room, use a interchange book at a parts store. i used to run a two quart filter on my pinto.
