Ranger idles rough for couple of minutes after cold start. Almost like its flooding. Glow plug are working . Any ideas ? Maybe thermoswitch ?

Just curious... How did you test the glow plugs? The Mazda has a knob to the left of the steering wheel. Some might call it a choke. HTH Rob

Well i havent tested them. I just know from experience that it wont start at all when its cold out if the glow plugs arent working. It does start, but maybe not as easily. I guess i could have one or two bad glow plugs. Just thought of that. Also it has a cold start knob that works.

Well i had one dead glow plug. Replaced it and now it cranks and idles as it should.

Four functioning glow plugs are required for more than just the initial start up, they are also glowing during the "after-glow" stage during warm up. You might have a dead plug which would explain your rough idle.

You can get a block heater at Napa, as for the cold start cable you're going to have to improvise
