I was just going to mention that for Tempforce because there's a picture with both drivetrains side by side. You can see that they are not quite the same. It's about the same amount of difference as I found between a gas and a diesel tranny.

My brother put a diesel into a gas Mazda of the same year...LOL...He made the bell housing hump in the cab bigger with a 20 pound sledge hammer.....

tried the link, ebay's page is down. thanks for keeping me in mind. if my ford four speed gives out, i plan on finding a mazda bell housing. so i can install a five speed. i'm still checking into installing a mitsu 2.3 turbo onto my 2.2. anyone try anything like it? i just want to clean up the pipe and maybe have a little more pulling power. 3-5 lbs boost shouldn't hurt..... cc

Tempforce - you already have the Mazda bellhousing on your 4 speed. That series of mazda trannies are quite "modular" and all have the same bolt pattern for the center section. They look very different since the 5 speeds have the spacer in the middle that makes them longer plus longer bolts, but the front housing will work with either.
