Well got her all finished up tonight, I was gonna take it to the exhaust shop monday and have them put a straight pipe on it and the turbo charge pipe. Thank god I didn't, drove it up the road about 1.5 miles and back, pulled up to the shop, Oil was already coming out of the turbo compressor housing. So now the cheap Chinese turbo will either have to be rebuilt with garrett components or buy a garrett. I know there was a place in Tennessee that went through them machined, balanced, put it in garrett specs with garrett components for 170.00, gonna see if the local turbo shop will do the same. everything else works great, just need to bleed the clutch a bit more.

I got her back from the exaust shop, and man does she sound good! Shes not a slug anymore either! Tomorrow im gonna finish it up and go get her plated and insured, will get some videos and more feedback on how she drives! Btw the exhaust is a 2.5 inch down pipe mandrel bent and then 3 inch all the way back. With that straight pipe you can really hear the turbo

How does it start in the morning or after its sat for a few hour? How much boost are running? I like the idea of lower compression to run more boost but before I do anything like that I'll see how yours holds up for awhile. Mine running a max of 8psi boost has been going good for me for the last 3 years or so it's had a turbo on it. How much more power than stock do u think its making? Could you post videos and pictures when you get chance?

Could you post videos and pictures when you get chance? It will fire right off and miss out a bit, just cloccasionally tap the glow plugs and it'll start to run perfect. My boost gauge is off before i put the wastegate controller on the turbo wastegate is set at 7psi and it was reading under 5psi on the gauge now it's showing a little over 10 with the controller hooked up, so I think it's running 12-16 psi right now. I actually had problems yesterday when playing with the boost of it blowing the silicone boots and clamps off lol.. In the time it used to get to 35 it's getting up to about 50-55, I will get some good videos of it in the next couple days, still have a few kinks to work out, such as my clutch slave cylinder is shot and needs a new one, should be here today. Will keep everyone posted. Once it's all figured out, I'll put it on the dyno and see what it puts down, I'm hoping it will be 70-90 hp at the wheel. If I had my injection pump completely sealed up and rebuilt I think it'd be a little more gutty. Timing on it needs to be advanced too.

Well today was a good day for the ranger till about 6:30 was doing some burnouts in her earlier this afternoon, links to both videos will be posted at the bottom, actually was doing both burnouts from first gear then shifting too second gear, tried third but lost boost by the time I let the clutch out, think it still would've smoked them in 3rd if I didn't loose boost. Tonight when i took a couple buddies around the block in it, she died like it was out of fuel, looks like my fuel pump is bad after doing some checking. youtu.be/B2u_iOui9c8youtu.be/kEDnnsfKpno

How will you fix that fuel pump? Someone told me there is a truck shop in Charlotte that will rebuild them. I'll get you the name if you want to call them.

I think you misunderstood, not the injection pump but the electric lift pump, it seems to be barely supplying enough fuel, really slow getting to the filter housing, or theres a collapsed or blockage in the line

check the inline fuel heater. I thought my injector pump was wore out as I couldn't get any fuel to the fuel filter, and it turned out to just be the fuel heater was plugged up. Removed it and had fuel instantly.

Removed it and had fuel instantly. It was my electric lift pump, you could piss more than it was pumping, wired it back up, had a totally different sounding engine, better turbo spool, and it had a noticeable gain in power. I had no idea the lift pump was not supplying enough fuel to the injection pump, engine sounds alot more crisp now. Now I've got to get a new clutch slave cylinder seeing as i have no clutch dissengagement what so ever. Im gonna try to pull mine apart and put a new oring in it. Fluids just running out of it. Would've already had it changed but duralast doesnt make the right one for the diesels. Just try to rebuild mine if not, napa looks like they have the right one.

Could you post videos and pictures when you get chance? As for power difference over stock, it will run 55-60 up hills no problem, I was actually following my family to dinner on the interstate the other night and passed them so my dad could see that it has quite a difference now since he used to drive it, pulling a hill beside a semi truck the turbo charge pipe blew off at 14psi of boost, I was running 78mph up the hill, no problem.. When it blew the pipe i was instantly down to 45 and couldnt hardly get it to stay at 55 on flat ground... I figured out my timing needs to be advanced so my cold starts have been harder than they should be, ive been running it with the cold start on, but I have it set just to advance the timing without bumping up the idle now cold starts are just a very quick tap of the plugs and it idles perfect, and now has quite a bit more power. When the turbo pipe blew off on the interstate that was the first run with the timing advanced.
