I've been meaning to scour my local junkyards for diesel B2200/Courier/Ranger and 323/Escort parts. I just need to get around to it.
I'd like to have 2 or 4 spare injectors. Used ones would be good enough. I want something that I can rework. Then I would just swap them out for the ones I'm running on now. This would minimize the downtime required for this job. Then I could take my time restoring the original ones that I removed.
Does anybody have spares? Does anyone have a good source for new injectors? Used or rebuilt injectors? How about springs or shims for rebuilding them?
Are these injectors generic KIKI ones? Does anyone know about interchangeability among other diesels? I bet these are common in Japan. Does anyone have a Nippon connection?
Has anybody worked injectors before? There seems to be lots of pressure and spray tests that are called for by the shop manual. But none of these test are remotely achievable by me. Maybe there are generic test stands at places that do nothing but diesel work and I can employ them to test them.
Lastly, the copper gaskets on the line connection to the injector are bound to be commonly available for cheap. Does anyone know where or what a part number may be?

Chris That's a good idea, having a spare injector on hand. I have always wondered if other parts for say volvo diesels, rabbits etc. would work? Although the pressure(s) and spray patterns maybe diffrent, may work in a pinch? on the other note regarding the copper seal ring under the bleeder nut for the injector. Mine has started to leak a few drips over a period of time. (probally fine hair like abrasions on it, natural wear and tear i suppose) If you find any cross refernce parts for these, keep in touch.

I got a set of new replacement nozzels from www.blueridgediesel.com. Had to e-mail a pic with numbers on the Injector body. Got them for $12 each plus $1 for the copper seat. ( they didn't solve the cold skipping problem but did help) ATF is the elixir of youth for diesels. Add a quart every 3 times you fill up. (any type ATF the cheapest being best) As for leaks on Lines I had none but have heard that Aluminum Foil will solve them. The pump pressure will make its own hole at ends of line. (from VW diesel mechanic)

About the foil used as a gasket over the end of lines.
The pump will make 3.5 tons/inch - squared (peak) so if your too lazy to poke a hole with a nail at the end of the injector line, the pump will! The aluminum foil being like a soft gasket material that gets crushed into any scratches on the ball end of the compression sleeve. Make sure you trim off any extra foil as not ot get any in the threads if the compression nut.
As you can imagine, all these blast of high pressures can make a steel pipe talk. I have heard that covering the injector pipes with rubber vacuum hose slit down the side and secured with wire ties can make a big difference. One of those project I have...............
