the overhaul kit says eu and us only, no made in japan engines. so i'm thinking we may have problems with the overhaul kit...

The 4-154 is not the same as our engines. It is 154 cubic inches or 2.5 L and our engines are 2.2 L or 134 cubic inches. As far as I know and from experience working on both engines I don't think anything is interchangeable between them.

I find it amazing that Rock Auto has the Gasket kit for these, still! I spend lots of hours looking and asking friends who were in the auto parts business only to hit multiple dead ends..only to have someone here suggest Rock Auto and Bingo. I kept the box with the part number just in case, though

true, but there are a few items on the site that will fit. such as glow plugs. water jacket sensors... ect.
