I'm down to just one truck my 82 El Paso Resto (from El Paso Texas with NH drive train)...
Rob; Just Know the Mazda brain stops the alternator from charging when the engine is cold and you are stopped also the regulator has the brush holder on it and is easy to change. If you short the regulator when repairing it the interior light fuse will blow as it is on the same circuit.

But, I can't remember what I had for breakfast. LOL

Thanks for the info. The mechanic has the alternator at a specialty shop that rebuilds them etc, and says it is not the brushes. He is saying that the stator needs replacing which is basically the copper winding?

He is saying that the stator needs replacing which is basically the copper winding? Did you ask him if he could rebuild the vacuum pump? If not, please do. We could send ours to him. Or, maybe we can get parts to rebuild them ourselves. Rob

I will ask them if they can do that. I ordered a used alternator that is hopefully the right one. Do you what the part number is for the B2200 alternator?

Any info dropped here may help someone. The only weak link on these trucks seems to be rust. Ten years from now, someone may find one in a junkyard and want to get it going. Rob
