Figured out what the problem was, The intake valve was open on one cylinder when we washed the engine before taking it apart to de-grease it. The build shall go one! Hopefully can run up to the machine shop Wednesday to have the pistons cut. Probably will buy another China knockoff turbo as the pressurized turbo (smaller one) for the compound system. I'm looking at a GT2252 turbo A/R .51... So it'll be a GT2252 over a t3/t4. Should perform pretty good. I guess we'll find out! Pistons and combustion chambers will be Ceramic coated for handling the heat, really hope it has power and holds together.. If it does probably next year it'll be getting the injection pump re worked for more fuel then more boost. I think I'm gonna build a girdle to hold everything together in the bottom end. For now 13-17psi boost.. With more fuel if the pump gets re worked, Maybe 30-35psi. Shouldn't hurt it since it'll be decompressed to 17:1. FYI- If you lower the compression you're not going to get it started in the cold. These are prechamber engines, they need all the help they can get, including having good cylinder pressure when cranking.

I've been around prechamber engines "IDI'S" for many years, we've played with GM 6.5l's and Ford 6.9l, and 7.3 IDI's at 18-17:1, they seem to start just fine at -25 which it doesn't ever get any colder than that here. I'm not to worried about it, it has good glowplugs and a working grid heater. It probably won't be seeing the -25 temps anyway since it doesn't have heat.

I added t3/t4 turbo to my 2.2 diesel 50k ago and never had issues. I just adjusted injection pump to calibrate for boost. Works very well, makes around 10 psi boost max egt never above 1300.

That's nice to know! I'm planning on running mine around 10-15psi boost and try to keep the egt's under 1400*

Well the pistons are being topped at the machine shop, Taking off 35 thous and should put the Compression ratio at 17.8:1. Gonna have to abandon the compounds for now but probably this summer when I have more time it'll get compounds and other goodies put on it. I'm gonna try to Ceramic coat the pistons, valves, and combustion chambers when the pistons come back. For right now I'm gonna run it with the T3/T4, injection pump maxed out, soon to come water/meth kit... Gotta get the dang thing going soon.
