Hello everyone! I finally joined. I use to just search for all the valuable info that exists on this site. So I thank you guys for that. I've owned my 84 Diesel Ranger since last November. I just finished mounting a Eaton M90 Supercharger where the ol AC pump use to exist. I used the smallest pulley availabl for a Cobra Mustang which was 1.9" it should with the 5 inch crank put the blower at 10,524 rpms at 4000 engine rpms. Im off to the parts store to find like a 4" smaller belt. I still have to fab up the front mount intercooler and piping. Is there anything else that needs to be done to this engine to be ready for boost?

It looks like a good installation but unless you have added piston cooling oil jets it would be wise to not boost it very much. Most of the suggestions on here say in the 5 to 10 PSI range.

Thanks gradyc, info duelly noted Ya when I fire it again I was going to see what the blower produces against the 2.2L. I'll probably integrate a wastegate to have the excess boost pressure bypass into the intake track of the blower. It'll be all supercharger whine with a hint of diesel rattle, which will be different. Im hoping with the blower overdriven it'll produce peak boost level under 1500. Im sure this would be possible with a turbo too, but I thought with a small blower it wouldn't have the exhaust drive pressure way up which would put more hurt against the already weak exhaust valves. Should hold a great powerband in the driving range. Just want it to hold 65 mph at 6000 ft elevation.

With a wastegate and overdriving it you could have a constant boost pressure through your entire RPM range.

The other question is under the blank AFC cover on top of the rotory pump will it except the boost reference cover that the early gen 1 cummins have? Where is the safe zone on egts on this engine?

It is best to talk to a good injector shop about what modifications are needed for the pump. The older cummins pump is similar and so are some of the VW pumps so something must fit. They are all the Bosch VE pump design.

youtu.be/8F0nGDuKsUwGot a temporary boost gauge mounted up. Fired it up and have 4 psi at idle. Might be a tad bit over driven. Check out the vid

What intercooler did you use? and the dimensions of it? Very clean setup!

It was a ebay purchase a long time ago, its prolly a xs power or something along those lines but the core is 15.5 wide x 12 tall x 3 thick. The measurements are without the endcaps. A 2.5 inch thick core would work too because the intake diameter is 2.5. I had to remove the ac condenser to make it fit. I also had to trim the core support to make room for piping. There is room for it in front of the intercooler between the grill to remount a ac condenser.
Just purchased a 3 inch blower pulley from Pulley Boys. Hopefully it'll be the sweet spot. It'll be here Wednesday YAY

I'm glad to see your work. I was going to add a supercharger to mine until my friend gave me a small turbo to try. One thing you will want to do, if you haven't done it already, is drill out the valve cover vent. Here is the tread: north76.proboards.com/thread/453/valve-cover-mod

Just finished the valve cover mod. Slow but sure it's getting there. Just finishing up the 3 in 1 gauge to monitor egts, boost, and coolant temp.
